Privacy
Homeroom (homeroomphotos.com) is a picture-day tool for schools and photographers. This page explains what we collect, why, and who sees it.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, and (if you set one) a password. Sign in with Google gives us your Google name, email, and a unique Google account id, not your Google password.
- School picture-day data that a photographer or school uploads: student names, classes, parent emails, photos, and orders.
- Order and payment details needed to fulfill prints. Card payments go through Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- A session cookie so you stay signed in, plus basic server logs (time, path, errors) to keep the service running.
- Product analytics on the public site (home, privacy, sign-in, sign-up) and parent pages (invite sign-up, proof galleries, and ordering): page paths, button clicks, and a session replay of how the page was used. Replays keep labels and navigation readable so we can see where someone got stuck. Children's names are masked, photos of children are blocked from recordings, and passwords, claim codes, and child-name form fields are hidden. If you are signed in, the recording is tied to your Homeroom account (name and email) so we can look up your session when you ask for help. Gallery and password-reset links are stripped of their secret tokens before anything is sent. We also send anonymized error reports (exception type, message, and stack) from those same pages and from the server so we can fix crashes. Photographer dashboard pages are not recorded.
How we use it
We use this information to run picture day: check-in, matching photos, proof galleries, parent orders, and related emails. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- The photographer or school that runs your event can see the roster, photos, and orders for that event.
- Parents see proofs and orders for the children linked to their account.
- Processors we need to operate: Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), our email provider, our hosting provider, and PostHog (product analytics, session replay, and error reports on parent pages, as described above).
How long we keep it
We keep account, roster, photo, and order data while the photographer's Homeroom workspace is active, and for a reasonable period afterward so reprints and support still work. You can ask us to correct or delete your account data.
